Farahan The design of this antique Farahan, consisting of arched, sweeping branches on a midnight blue field, is called Mustafi in Persia. – The original finishes have been preserved all around, but are partially damaged. Small repiled sections, otherwise in good condition.

Yomut Main Carpet The spacious composition and size of the kepse güls, as well as the highly patinated colours, indicate the great age of this main carpet. – Reselvedged on both sides, somewhat reduced ends. Low pile, several old repiled sections and stitched tears.

Two Yomut Chuvals Lot: 17
Two Yomut Chuvals For practical reasons, the Turkmen always wove two chuvals at a time on a common warp, making them up into two separate bags later. In this item, two Yomut chuvals have been preserved as a pair. The brown-ground field shows nine primary güls and hooked diamonds as secondary motifs, a design that is comparatively rare in chuvals. The white-ground main border contains stepped polygons decorated with small triangles. A plain elem. – Well preserved pile, the kilim backs have survived. Slight signs of wear, small holes, several restored areas along the sides.

Karapinar Yastik This yastik shows a miniature version of the same design seen in larger Karapinar carpets – two green cruciform medallions on a brown-red ground and hooked triangles (see Brüggemann & Böhmer). – In good condition except for slight signs of wear and several repairs along the sides.

Malatya Heybe Lot: 19
Malatya Heybe A completely preserved kilim double bag by the East Anatolian Kurds inhabiting the Malatya region. Each of the faces shows three wide design bands of hooked diamonds interspersed with dividing stripes of small diamonds linked like chains. The back is patterned in colourful horizontal stripes. – Very good condition.
