| Sumakh | A red-ground sumakh with a rare primary design: two blue-ground, eight-pointed star medallions, each enclosing four yellow and four red pinwheel motifs. Similar designs are found in older Caucasian silk embroideries. The free spaces in the field left by the main design contain a wealth of larger and smaller motifs, including representations of animals and humans. The presence of aniline red is an indication of the date. – Several rewoven areas, now in good condition. | |

| Bergama Prayer Rug | A red-ground prayer rug with a white blossom at the centre, two stylised trees along the central axis, four grey-green amulets at the sides, and a white-and-green band surrounding the field, shaped as a prayer arch at the top. The black-ground border holds a geometric vine with abstract animals and flowers. Although greatly simplified, this composition is still in the tradition of much older precursors made in the 16th century, for instance the "Bellini" type. Use of designs based on traditional models is a characteristic phenomenon of the Bergama region. – Most of the corroded black sections have been rewoven, various restored areas in the field. | |
