| Bokhara Suzani | Despite its divergent field design of blossoms linked by delicate twigs, this impressive Bokhara silk embroidery can be classified as part of the group of large medallion Suzanis, as can be inferred from the style of drawing, colour scheme and technique with the motifs executed in basma stitch and the outlines embroidered in ilmok stitch as well as the design of the wide border. Less than ten examples of this very rare sub-group are known. Backed with fabric, good condition, only minimal repairs. | |

| Baluch | The blue-black field displays a geometric, stylised version of the Persian mina-khani repeat, here executed with straight twigs and serrated diagonal leaves. A row of large blossoms marks the central axis; the blossoms of the two flanking rows are cut and halved by the border. White star-shaped flowers provide lively highlights in the dark field. The wide, tomato-red border shows a geometric, abstract vine of twigs decorated with flowers and rosettes. An example displaying the same field design was exhibited at the San Francisco ICOC in 1990. Baluch rugs of this group were probably made by the Karai tribe in the Torbat-e Haydari region. Completely preserved with the wide, finely woven kilim finishes. | |

| Sauj Bulag | The earth brown field shows a repeat of large cruciform flowers in a diamond lattice of yellow serrated leaves.
