The field and tabs show a design that is typical of the tribe – a small-format repeat of white octagons on a blue-black ground. The lower end is decorated with a wide horizontal panel containing knotted tufts of wool in brilliant and diverse colours as well as long warps tied off into plaits. – Good condition. | |

| Marasali Prayer Rug | Botehs in various brilliant colours with serrated outlines and of diverse interior drawing form a dense repeat of offset rows in the midnight blue field. A wide prayer arch has been integrated into the repeat at the upper end. The white-ground border is decorated with red abstract birds. The characteristic shape of the botehs, fine weave and silk wefts indicate that this prayer rug from the Shirvan region belongs to the Marasali group. – New overcasting along the sides, both ends minimally reduced, small repiled sections. Otherwise in good condition. | |
