| Shahsavan Kilim | Five sets of large, nested, serrated diamonds have been aligned along the central axis of the red abrashed field, which has a horizontal row of small hexagons at each end. The border is composed of reciprocal trefoils. Published twice before, this kilim, formerly in the Vok Collection, was woven by a Shahsavan tribal group in the Saveh region. Comparatively finely woven on a cotton warp, the item has a flexible handle. – Both sides rewoven, a hole at the top, signs of age and wear, stains. | |

| Beshir Kelleh | This Beshir woven in kelleh format is far too large for use in a Turkmen tent. It was either used in one of the houses of the winter quarters or produced on commission for an urban client. The field shows a chequerboard design outlined in thin, striped defining lines. Each square contains a stepped diamond surrounded by sections arranged in colour diagonals; all surfaces are covered in small blossoms. – Part of the original kilim finish survives at the top, original selvedges, slightly reduced lower end. Signs of heavy wear, low pile. | |
