| Kozak | Brüggemann & Böhmer have published a further example of this Kozak group woven in a colour scheme of grass green and cochineal red, with a bold border design of stepped gables and reciprocal arrow shapes. Their book on an exhibition of Turkish carpets held at the Frankfurt Carmelite Monastery does not include details of ages and provenances, but we can assume that their comparative piece was woven around the same time as our example. The selvedges have been renewed along both sides, several repiled areas, in particular a long stripe at the centre of the field. | |

Several design details in the pile have been picked out in ruby silk and white cotton. Tears and minor holes in several areas, damage to the sides, otherwise well preserved. | |
