| Banya Luka Wall Hanging | A appliqué embroidery of wool and metal-wrapped threads on a felt ground. The design a large vase filled with flowers placed below the sweeping niche and a wide border in which a wavy line of S-shaped ornaments crosses a floral vine is executed in the typically baroque style of the late Ottoman Empire. When engaged in their frequent military campaigns, high-ranking Ottoman officers lived in luxuriously appointed tents whose interior walls were adorned with decorative hangings.
