Chinguetti Blanket Lot: 254
Chinguetti Blanket This kilim blanket of narrow stripes that have been sewn together is an impressive piece by the Chinguetti tribe in the western Sahara. It shows the typical checkerboard design of the region, but here executed in five colours rather than the two-tone composition usually seen in such flatweaves. The yellow compartments are embroidered with symbols. – Slight signs of age and wear, minor repairs and stains.

Shahsavan Khorjin A double bag by the Hashtrud Shahsavan in miniature format, woven in reverse sumakh technique. The dark brown faces are decorated with offset cruciform shapes. A red kilim back. Such small-format khorjins are called “children´s bags” in literature. – Good condition.

Yomut Ok Bash A white-ground Yomut ok bash (tent pole container) showing the typical design of long, serrated diagonal leaves. The piece has been converted into an upholstered cushion and backed with a blue corduroy fabric. The present condition makes it impossible to determine whether the lower triangles have survived.

Luri Miniature Bag Lot: 265
Luri Miniature Bag Small-format bags of this kind served to store personal items. Coarsely woven and with a specific palette, this bag is the work of a Luri weaver. The brown-ground face is decorated with a hooked diamond, the back, also pile-woven, is patterned with light brown and white vertical stripes. – Completely preserved, good condition, the seams at the sides have been undone.
