| Chinguetti Blanket | This kilim blanket of narrow stripes that have been sewn together is an impressive piece by the Chinguetti tribe in the western Sahara. It shows the typical checkerboard design of the region, but here executed in five colours rather than the two-tone composition usually seen in such flatweaves. The yellow compartments are embroidered with symbols. – Slight signs of age and wear, minor repairs and stains. | |
