| Konya Kilim Fragment | Originally a two-panel kilim, the surviving piece is the larger section of one panel. This impressive flatweave used to be in the Kirchheim Collection, and has been published in ""Orient Stars"". As Rageth emphasises in his description, the usual separation of the field and border has been reversed here: a field design of rectangles has been placed on the uniformly blue ground in such a way that the free spaces around them are seen as frames. The dominant motif, a gül-like ornament composed of three hexagons with an extensive outline of hooks and poles, is interpreted by Rageth as a “goddess with leopards”, in the spirit of the ""Neolithic school"". – Mounted onto canvas. | |

| Tabriz | This finely woven, high-quality Tabriz workshop carpet has a vase-and-arabesque lattice design and several variations of palmettes interspersed with blossoming twigs on a light red ground. Produced in large numbers during the Twenties, such carpets were modelled on 17th century Kerman vase designs, which became well-known again through the large-format colour plates in some of the early carpet publications. The blue-ground main border shows large, beautifully drawn fan-shaped palmettes in light colours. – Good condition. | |
