Turkmen Ensi Lot: 205
Turkmen Ensi A Turkmen door hanging with a field design of trees in diverse colours placed in offset rows. The tree motif is often seen in ensi elems, but its occurrence as a repeat in the field is extremely rare. The attribution of this obviously very early piece is unclear as it combines elements associated with various tribes. Nor does the palette provide any definite clues since the Tekke, Yomut and Chodor are all known to have produced weavings in these colours. A comparable ensi was exhibited in Washington in 2003. Newly overcast sides, remains of the kilim ends survive. Several restored areas.

Central Asia, West Turkestan
Dimensions:
173 x 122 cm
Age:
First half 19th century
End price:
15,860.00 €

Konya Yastik Lot: 215
Konya Yastik Judging by its coarse weave and brilliant colours, it is likely that this pretty yastik, with a long, shield-shaped medallion on a blazing red field, an ochre border and elems typical of Central Anatolia, was woven in the Konya region.
