Tekke Torba Lot: 247
Tekke Torba A nine-gül Tekke torba with chemche secondary motifs and a kotshak border. Very good quality, a fine cloth-like handle, soft velvety pile wool. Cut sides, replaced cords, somewhat reduced at the bottom. Several holes, darned areas and stains.

Bergama Lot: 248
Bergama Probably made as a workshop piece in the Bergama region in the 17th or early 18th century, this antique carpet has a green field densely filled with vines that is dominated by a large, red-ground shield medallion. Two comparative pieces in the McMullan Collection (now in the Metropolitan Museum, New York) and in Bausback are attributed to the Ushak region. They differ in their main border design of leaves, whereas the blue-ground border of this example displays elibelinde crosses. Backed with fabric, obvious signs of age, holes of varying sizes.

Shirvan Kilim Lot: 249
Shirvan Kilim Shirvan kilims woven in the eastern Caucasus, with wide and narrow horizontal stripes inscribed with bold serrated diamonds, always stand out for the great density of their weave and good overall quality; however, we know few examples displaying colours as fresh and brilliant as this beautiful piece. Minor repairs, otherwise very well preserved.

Ersari Fragment Lot: 254
Ersari Fragment Four wide vertical stripes with ikat-style designs fill the field, while the border contains linked hexagons enclosing stars and stepped polygons. The original dimensions of this carpet, which has been cut exactly along the centre and rejoined, are uncertain. Original selvedges, remains of the kilim finishes survive. Slight signs of wear, one area has worn away.

Yomut Ensi Lot: 255
Yomut Ensi The brown, square field shows a tree design, the tower-like mihrab protrudes into a horizontal panel of diamonds. The wide border area includes two syrga stripes and a central band of polygons. The light red is a rare feature. Obvious signs of age and wear, the pile has completely worn away in places. Both ends somewhat reduced.

Kizil Ayak Torba (Fragment) Fragment of an early torba by the Kizil Ayak tribe. The field shows the kejebe design on a light, brown-red ground, the border is decorated with kochak designs. Silky wool, a fine weave, transparent colours. Reduced all around, the left-hand section of the torba has been lost.

Khotan Lot: 259
Khotan The field of this antique carpet from the Khotan oasis is decorated with a floral design inspired by Persian models from Herat that was also popular in East Turkestan a dense repeat of horizontal twigs bearing five rosettes arranged in colour diagonals, interspersed with four palmettes configured in a diamond shape and diamonds decorated with flowers. Twigs bearing three flowers adorn the inner, cobalt blue border, while a wider border showing a Chinese wavy pattern provides the outer finish. An early example of the group coarsely woven with changing weft colours, a floppy handle, soft pile wool, brilliant colours. Several old restorations, signs of wear, low spots in the pile.

Baluch Prayer Rug A prayer rug with a tree-of-life design on a camel field and two hands placed next to the box-shaped mihrab, probably woven in the surroundings of Sarakhs. Good condition, original finishes all around.
