Valuation, catalogues, bids, other services

Valuation:
If you would like to enter rugs or carpets and textiles in our auction sales, please send us photographs of the objects with their dimensions in advance, either in a letter or by e-mail. We will then check whether these objects fit into the framework of our auctions and make a preliminary selection. Binding reserves and estimates can only be set after personal inspection of objects. There is no charge for valuation and assessment of objects at our office in Wiesbaden, as long as the objects are then consigned for auction.

Valuation of collections:
For valuation of complete collections, for which a house visit is undertaken at the owner’s request, there is a flat-rate charge of 1,000 Euros (plus VAT), to which travel costs must be added. The flat-rate charge is waived should the pieces valued be consigned for auction within the following six months.

Catalogues:
You have the option of ordering the current auction catalogue as well as placing a subscription for four consecutive auction catalogues. Print out the relevant form, fill it in, then send it to us by fax or e-mail.

Written bids:
You can participate in our auction sales as a bidder by submitting written bids. New clients must register, regular clients just give their customer number. We reserve the right to conduct a credit check and require bank references in the case of new clients.
You will need to print out the bidding form and fax it to us. Bids made via e-mail are not binding for legal reasons. In making a bid, you are accepting our auction conditions.

Agency and advisory services:
In addition to our auction activities we also offer agency and advisory services.

Agency:
You can instruct us to search for rare objects in a targeted manner. As a result of our global connections we are often in a position to find the desired objects within a definable time frame. Please provide, as precisely as possible, details of what you are seeking and the quality level and price categories at which you wish to become involved. Should a search be successful, commission is payable based on the value of the object. Direct broking of rare objects to buyers from among our international clientele is also one of our areas of responsibility.

Advice:
We can provide you with competent advice on building up, expanding or restructuring your collection and develop a concept for you to orientate yourself quickly and effectively in the market. We can also advise you on winding up of estates and insurance matters. The fees for these services are based on the amount of work involved.

Restoration, conservation, washing:
Expert restoration, conservation and cleaning of valuable antique carpets and textiles requires the highest possible degree of skill and experience. As a result of our long years of experience and our global business connections we can act as your intermediary in a purposeful way. We organise the necessary work on your behalf, supervise its execution and check the result. For this service we charge a flat-rate percentage of invoice price.
