Important Information for Buyers

On Friday, 8th May 2020 our auction A 971 of specialist literature on rugs and textiles (372 lots) will take place as planned.

On Saturday, 9th May 2020 our auction A 970 of rugs from the Wollesen Collection and other entries (168 lots) will also take place as planned.

Unfortunately, auctions attended by saleroom bidders and visits to our premises to preview the objects for sale are currently still prohibited under the Coronavirus regulations in the German state of Hesse. It is expected that these restrictions will not be lifted before mid-May. We are thus obliged to exclude the public from our auctions on 8th and 9th May.

Nevertheless, we hope that many of you will participate in the two auctions. The catalogues have been published online. High-resolution images are available for the rug auction A 970, with a zoom function enabling maximum enlargement to illustrate the texture as well as the condition of the objects.

You will be able to bid at the auctions in various ways. Most of our buyers are already familiar with these options.

For the book auction A 971 on 8th May 2020, you may submit written bids ahead of the event (a form is available on our homepage), or you may place bids via the “LiveAuctioneers” bidding portal. For successful bids via “LiveAuctioneers”, a surcharge of 5% will be payable on top of the regular buyer’s premium. Additionally, we have now set up our own bidding portal (please register at “My Rippon Boswell” on our homepage). For successful bids via “My Rippon Boswell”, a surcharge of just 1% will be payable on top of the regular buyer’s premium.

The same procedure will apply at the rug auction A 970 on 9th May 2020. At this auction, telephone bidding will also be available by prior appointment.
