A carriage cushion in the rölakan technique. In the light red field, two large, blue-black, eight-pointed stars linked by a diamond are divided by a cross into four segments containing stars and small dice. Two cartouches at the ends of the field indicate the year of origin, 1810, and the initials BOD, probably the owner’s name. The lightning design of interlocked sharp points seen in the border is characteristic of items made in the south western districts of Skytts and Oxie. This example was published in the Malmö catalogue in 1916 and attributed to the Oxie district. – Damage to all four corners, the back is missing, otherwise in good condition.
